Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) approves providers’ quality-assurance procedures, validates programmes leading to QQI awards and maintains the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).
Forus Training offers programmes leading to QQI awards. Each relevant course page shows the award title and code, NFQ level, credits, award type and assessment requirements.
The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) sets standards for first-aid and emergency-response training, including First Aid Response and Cardiac First Response.
Selected Forus Training courses lead to PHECC certification. Each relevant course page explains the certificate awarded, how long it remains valid and any recertification requirements.
Not every Forus Training course leads to a QQI award or PHECC certificate. Some may carry industry or professional recognition, while others focus on practical skills without a formal award.
Each course page explains the training outcome, any certificate or recognition available, who issues it and whether renewal or recertification is required.
The National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) is Ireland’s ten-level system for describing and comparing recognised qualifications. Each level reflects the knowledge, skill and competence associated with an award.
Forus Training offers programmes leading to QQI awards at NFQ Levels 3–6.

A major award represents a complete qualification at a particular NFQ level and usually involves the completion of several modules.
A minor or component award recognises achievement in a specific area and is valuable in its own right. Appropriate minor awards may also be combined towards a major award, subject to the award requirements.

Programmes are developed around defined learning outcomes, assessment requirements, relevant standards and the needs of learners and industry.
Courses are subject to review by subject-matter experts to ensure that courses remain relevant, clear and suitable for their intended purpose.
Trainers are selected according to the qualifications, knowledge and professional experience required for their subject area.
They receive induction and guidance on programme delivery, assessment, learner support and Forus Training quality procedures.
Before you enrol, we explain each course’s level, award or certificate, delivery method, duration, assessment, entry requirements and fees.
This ensures that you can have all the information you need to make an informed choice that aligns with your goals.
Assessments are based on the published learning outcomes and assessment briefs for the programme.
Learners receive information about:
For programmes leading to QQI or PHECC awards, results undergo internal verification, independent external authentication and formal approval before submission to the relevant awarding body.
External authenticators review samples of learner work to check fairness and consistency with national standards.
Learner feedback, trainer feedback, assessment outcomes and quality reviews help identify where programmes, resources and learner services can be improved.
Quality assurance is an ongoing process rather than a once-off approval.
